Coconut Creek is a city in northern Broward County, Florida, situated roughly 37 miles north of Miami and a short drive west of the Atlantic coast. Incorporated in 1967 after seceding from Pompano Beach, the city was planned from the start as a residential community, with master-planned neighborhoods, greenbelts, and a deliberate emphasis on environmental quality that still distinguishes it today.
